At least it has two stars on the barrel. I have patterned this gun with lead #6 and #7 1/2 at 40 yds. from a bench. This is also the setting for shooting all steel shells even 3". Browning Auto 5 problems. I just picked up a 1950 Auto 5 that seems to have multiple problems. It won't eject fired shells and when you manually eject... the next shell feeds but the one in line afterwards dumps out the bottom. I was able to disassemble the gun and cleaned and oiled it well but it didn't help much.

After this usually it fails to eject about every two shots, then gets to the point where every shot fails and you have to eject the shells manually.

I would like to keep one as a hunting / trap gun, and modify the other for HD / tactical / 3-gun use.

Pull the keeper out of the mag tube being carefull of the spring tension. swab the tube out real good, make sure the follower is slipping nice and free the length of the tube, put a little lube on it and reassemble.
