One way to tell whether the 4x4 is working or not is put it on jack stands, start it, put it in gear, see if the drive shaft to the rear wheels is spinning (it should be), then pull the 4x4 lock lever on the console and see if the rear wheels engage. .It was common for the wires to corrode & cause a break in one of the wires. When that happens, the 4WD! Light would go on. Clean off the corrosion, reconnect all 4 wires & that should turn off that light. #3The next area where Patriots have issues with that same light ''4WD!''.
