I use to pay 55 cents per foot for the old stuff, but today I paid nearly $9.00 for 2 feet of the f/i hose. I guess the PSI is quite a bit different (15 PSI vs 70 PSI), at least ... The return line also should be on the top side of the filter, above the carb line to prevent gas siphoning back to the tank when it sits, making for long cold starts. As for the plumbing, run all -6 AN hose for supply and return. AN sizing is in 16ths of an inch so -6 = 6/16 or 3/8". You can get -8 to -6 reducers for the fittings on the cell.

The reason the manufacturer went to an electric pump was because of fuel injection. I just got my '89 YJ if the mechanical fuel pump compensates for too much pressure downstream. He also broke the fuel fill vent, so I'm replacing the tank, and thus all fuel lines - will restore it to normal config with fuel supply and return lines and vent line to cannister unless someone knows that a return line is not really needed.
