After a scope adj. at 200 yards, #2 and 3 were touching. 3 shots at 300 were 4" apart. Haven't chronoed this load yet (84 gr. by weight, 120 gr. by vol), but I expect around 2000 fps mv.
The Remington 700ML is notorious for its blowback problems. BH209 does not list this rifle in any form as approved by them for the use of their powder. When I transfer a 70 grain (weight) charge to one of the blackhorn 209 graduated tubes, it often will indicate closer to 90 grains by volume. A max load of bh209 is 120gr by volume. You can weigh it but it's 70% of what the volume calls for. So a 100gr charge by volume is 70gr by weight. Or 84gr by weight is the max charge. Most of what I've seen and done in the past was used 100-110 grains by volume with a 250 gr bullet.

The pellets are calibrated to be equivalent to the grains by volume. A load of two 50-grain pellets should give you similar velocity as a loose load of 100 grains.

A fresh charge prior to the hunt is the best charge. Stored properly, Blackhorn 209 has an indefinite life. It remains consistent, and is good to the last drop. When working up a load with 250 � 300 grain projectiles, 90 � 110 grains by volume seems to be the window of best performance.
Using my T/C U-View powder measure, I checked to see if the Blackhorn 209 vial measurement corresponded with those of the U-View measure. I'm talking T7 ff here. So, if I wanted to do a 150 grain load, I'd be looking at 135 grains by volume. On the pellets, it depends on which pellets you are using. The T7 Magnum pellets are 60 grain equivalent so two is you max load. Both T7 loose and pellets burn very close to what BH209 burns, peak pressure-wise.Blackhorn requires a full strength 209 primer directed directly into powder for sure ignition. It also requires the load to be tightly compressed. GREAT powder if you can accomplish those two things.
