Find a gun -- preferably one that you can have a lot of ammo for -- that has a " Dodge this. " stat (this is key). The pitchfork is a much better sniper than the Lyuda for anarchy Gaige builds IMHO. The bullet spread is much tighter and travel in parallel plus you get 5 pellets vs the Lyuda's 3 that spread out from each other. and even at 400 stacks if you toggle discord and use the scope to take your shot the accuracy decrease is hardly noticable.

Blood soaked shields and cooking up trouble are op early game. Non unique turtle shields will be very strong. The Lazy Build: This build focuses on giving Deathtrap the highest DPS (damage per second), making him (and you) a complete tank. DPS ANARCHY: The build for those who want to cause chaos and who don't want the robot to do all the work.
Anarchy is by far the more fun way to play Gaige. Jakobs shotguns, high damage per shot revolvers (think like Ruby) and high rate of fire snipers are your bread and butter. For shields I usually run a Nova or an Amp shield since Blood Soaked Shields negates most concerns about recharge delay/rate. Deathtrap's damage is bugged on PC, so it will fall off pretty hard in the later game (UVHM) unless you use mods to fix that. On console, Deathtrap's damage output can be pretty good (though you still want to be able to deal enough damage yourself).
