There aren't really enough 'rare' resources for careful harvest to be worth it, besides maybe goldstone from obsidian. As for corrupted attributes, it kind of depends.
It doesn't go the other way, you can spec full AGL, VIT and ENC and be incredibly useful in PVP while dealing the same spear damage as STR builds. You can buff 30% AGL and get more spear, bow and dagger damage, the 3 most useful weapons other than the greataxe. For me strength builds are dead.
