There is also an anode on the stern bracket. In order to function properly, anodes need to be clean, metal to metal contact with the housing. You can acess #74 anode bolt under the trim tab plate.

I believe that Other than the VRO pump, the motors are identical. BillS.

Re: 88 Evinrude SPL - What Size fuel lines? There is no problem using 3/8" fuel line. It does not put any pressure on the fuel pump the fuel pump only draws/sucks what it needs. The smaller fuel line does no allow enough flow thru it at WOT to feed a thirsty outboard so the fuel delivery is not fast enough to keep up with the demand.
