Honestly, mage isn't great in f7 (especially as cata 30) w/o hyperion. I played bers until about cata 32 then switched to mage when I could afford a hyperion. The livid dagger gives 100cc and 100 attack speed, making it good for spamming left click. This setup is basically a berserker upgrade that solely relies on mage beam.
