I saw the fix here of removing the fuses and I did it four times with various positions on the control for the air vent position. Air blows from the floor and defrost and it does switch between them with the control knob. Before I broke the motor, I noticed that no matter what I did to the controls, the HVAC system was stuck moving air from the defroster and lower heater vents. All, This weekend, I replaced my fuel level sending unit on my 2006 1SS. As part of that process, I disinfected the negative battery terminal.
