And take shadow meld as the elite skill. Now you can just dodge with rifle and gain stealth. U could also take the heal skill that gives stealth and blinding powder.

Personally, I find Holosmith (Engineer) to do quite well with burst AoE, it's not the best AoE profession, but you can build it Power or Condition damage and it does pretty well.
