Most beta bosses can be done with gen 1 tames if you have insane saddles, 200+ armor. For alphas you'll need some mutated tames. Gen 1 just won't have the health and damage. Broodmother specifically is a dps race. She doesn't have alot of health but does more raw damage than any other boss, only the dragons engulf does more.

Hmm, we have found broodmother a bit more difficult the last couple of weeks, but havent lost any rexes. Used to take around 3 minutes for a kill with 2 of us using 19 rexes and a yuty. Our last kill was this previous weekend, took around 5 minutes and a couple of rexes were heavily wounded with only around 6-8k health left.

Not my experience, half-decent "sloths" ( 10 k hp - 350 % melee base ) + 60 armor saddles rush through broodmother without loosing much health.
