I had a membrane sweep yesterday at 9 am (FTM, 39 weeks, 1 cm dilated, 60%-70% effaced). Last night began noticing small amounts of mucous/brownish blood after wiping. Just now I noticed the real deal—a large amount of mucous/brownish blood. Has anyone only lost their mucous plug and/or had bloody show after a membrane sweep and not gone into ... This morning I have lost a lot of mucous with a small amount of blood. My question is the midwife mentioned that I would have a show which I believe I already have done so could this be my mucous plug. I had my second sweep done yesterday. At both I've been more than 2cm dilated. I had some bleeding after the first sweep and lost my mucous plug. I haven't noticed anything following the second sweep. Apparently it can take up to 48hrs so I have my fingers crossed that it may still have worked. Only time will tell.
