Rear end identification 1969 Mustang. I know its been discussed alot. Trying to identify my rear end. has dimples on each side and no drain plug. I'm guessing its a 8" rear end. There is nothing sticking out to indicate it is a 9" rear end. Like i've seen in the photos. And i was able to put a socket on it.

You just divide the numbers and it gives you the ratio. For example, my '40 Ford rear end has 11 and 39, the 11 being the number of teeth on the pinion and the 39 being the number of teeth on the ring.
