If they were more of a high-end pistol, with steel construction, good reliability, good trigger, good sights, and genuinely useful accuracy, I would have been all over them at 4x the price.

The HP22A is a great value for the price, but its not in the same class with the Ruger. I expect that the Ruger will last for tens of thousands of rounds of all kinds. The HP22A will serve you well if you limit the high velocity ammo, but its probably not a 10K round pistol. If you can afford both, then I say get one of each.Pulled out my HP22 deluxe range pistol.
