The 95 and 96 models had a higher 1st and 2nd gear ratio than all others I believe. This is why the 95-96 models have a 16/46 sprocket and chain set were all others have a 17/42 set.

But the more I ride and tinker around, the more issues worth asking I find. So, first of all I noticed that when I open the throttle from idle, a knocking sound comes from the engine.Take a big screwdriver and short across the two big connections on the solenoid. This will test the starter. Shorting the solenoid like this puts battery power straight onto the starter. We had to do some minor cr@p like a speedo shim, new tire, fan switch but it runs like a bat out of hell!!! I love it so to me it is worth it!!! LIVE, LAUGH, RIDE! Straight Piped.
