the km48 is a 160cc single rotor engine which makes 8ps. the km37 is a 108cc single rotor engine which makes 5.5ps. the easiest way to identify them is by the width of the rotor housing. the km48 has a 40mm thick rotor housing and the km37 has a 27mm thick rotor housing. here are some pics of each engine to help show the difference.

I recently traded the rebuild of a model 23 Briggs for what I thought was a KM48 rotary. It ended up being an RC1-18.5 303cc 19hp engine imported by Curtiss Wright. The engine has no compression, but I still wanted it.
