It looks like you may have cobweb mold or grey mold. It should smell only of mushrooms. If you try a run again maybe use more spawn and place tinfoil or plastic wrap across the surface of the substrate and remove it once the substrate is all white underneath. Or just poke a few holes in that layer that might work even better.
