Not 100% sure, but I don't think that -IPS would effect the Exodia Contagion Projectile's damage. Even if it did, due to the nature of the damage distribution of the projectile (1/3 Impact, 1/3 Puncture, 1/3 Slash) you won't be losing out on a whole lot of damage. Besides that I am only comparing EC, not the zaw itself, since both have different build and play style. While Exodia Contagion is strong, it does have some weak points compare to other melee.
