This is even happening when I leave it on the coldest setting and recirculating the air.
The easiest way is to connect AC gauges to both the high pressure, thin metal line on the car, remove the cap with the "H" printed on it, use the red hose on your gauges, and then connect your low pressure side, the thicker metal line, remove the cap with the "L" printed on it and use the green hose from your gauges.
