From the bit that I read, the first person to die in the home was Cynthia Smith in 1921 after becoming ill with a fever. The home eventually was bought by John Walker in 1926 (there were multiple owners between Cynthia and him).

I stumbled across this page from facebook on my cousin’s page. If you get near Caro, MI again you should drive east on Deckerville Road for about 10 miles to a little town called Deford. There is still an old sign on a building for a Blacksmith, a house built completely out of rocks, the store is still being used. I love this little town.
