It`s Waaay easier without trap. In general you shouldn't use a trap for taming anything passive really. it can break their ai (as we see here) and they can sometimes aggro onto the trap. It keeps running away without a trap. Espacially when im dragging a Body im way to slow.

Level 20 is really low but it might teach you how to better tame higher levels. to learn how to do it yes its worth taming. wont be the best tame but will be a decent help in defense around your base or going out to farm resources for protection but i wouldnt fight anything too strong like a high level alpha rex or a giga.
