I haven’t had any internet connection through RCN since last night. I called their support line today and was told (after being run through several tests) that their service was actually down for the DC area and they have no time estimate for fixing it. Looking online, though, I can’t find any indication that this is a local/widespread issue.

RCN DC Customers: Yesterday a transformer fire in the area severely damaged our fiber; as a result RCN services were affected. Once the area was deemed safe RCN crews began repairs.
