If you live in a climate that doesnt corrode a car, it will last as long as you repair/maintain it. However, the useful life to where you're on the good side of the balance of cost to operate/repair the car is another story. I would put the useful life of a Tiburon at around 150,000ish miles before you're repairing it more than you're driving it.

you need to remove the outer tie rod from the knuckle, off the inner rod, and pull the boot off the inner tie rod, and like h8isgr8 said, there is the tab washer to come off as well, the new inner will come with one.
