You can put a cooking pot in the fires inside builds when you place camp fires in them but you can't cook cans in cooking pots only meat and vegetables. Using a Cooking pot with water on the Gas stove and turning it on doesnt do much either. But you can surprisingly carry the cooking pot on the stove in your hands whilst it's cooking for you.
